Why Minimalism

Why Minimalism?
Do you feel like you never have enough time? Do you feel like you have nothing good to wear? Do you feel like you have spent way too long in life doing the same thing over and over and getting the same result and here you are saying what the heck? These are the reasons that brought me to minimalism. I was doing too much and having too much to feel empty and unfulfilled. What was I missing that all the clothes and all the hobbies couldn’t give me?

Minimalism can be as deep or as shallow as you want to go. It can be a fashion sense that you wear but that’s as far as you take it, it can be a lifestyle that you live in your house, it can even be minimalism in your phone apps, number of friends, and number of things that you put your focus to. Throughout the years I have found many areas of my life to explore minimalism in and each one of them unfolds another level of beauty and freedom then the one before.

One thing I want to remind you is that there are no rules. Minimalism can look like whatever you want it to. I’ve been on this journey for years and in the beginning I would just follow the popular Youtubers. I got rid of all my clothes and only wore black and minimal denim and white. I didn’t know my style; I just knew how to copy theirs. Minimalism is meant to help you find what’s important to you and let go of all the rest. Don’t lose yourself in the hopes of trying to look like someone else, find what is cool to you and do that. There are all sorts of minimalism and so many different looks of it so don’t be stuck in a box. A cool form of minimalism I have just found is called Vintage Lifestyle Minimalism and its going back to the simpler days of the 1940’s or so and living like they did back then. Like I said there are many forms, so dabble around and find what resonates with you.

Soon you will find yourself with more time then you ever knew was possible. You will have money you never knew could be there and you will be feeling more like your true self than ever before. Going into minimalism is almost a journey to find your true self. It is almost difficult to deal with how easy life really is when you strip away all the excess. You will find yourself with more time then you ever knew you could have. My next blog post is going to be about what to do with your new found time and how to manage it and be productive to create the life you so desperately want.
